Hi Everyone!

Happy Movember! I hope that everyone had an excellent Halloweekend and started November with a clean shave in preparation for all the Movember events ahead! TOMS Interns have been hard at work to ensure that TOMS HQ gets into the Movember spirit.

Each TOMS Intern Class has a collaborative group project that we work on throughout the term. I think the Fall Interns are the luckiest since we get to help out with Movember, a month long campaign to raise awareness and funds for men’s health and cancers that affect men. For the past month, the Fall 2011 Interns have been plotting and planning the best Movember event TOMS has ever seen!

The interns split into groups in order to tackle every aspect of the event and make sure that we impressed the TOMS Family. The decorations team transformed HQ into a Moustached Halloween wonderland - moustaches, both small and large, festooned the entrance, hallways, and workspace!

While the decorations team cut and painted away, the gifts and pre-party team combined forces and prepared mason jars complete with straw mustaches, facts about Movember and men’s health, and delicious moustache shaped cookies.

Lastly, the breakfast team kicked off Movember with a French-themed breakfast, complete with a moustached Mona Lisa poster and croissants!

The Movember kickoff was a great event! Not only did all of the interns have a great time collaborating amongst ourselves, with other TOMS employees, and our teams in preparing our Movember costumes, but we also expanded our knowledge about men’s health and the importance of an organization like Movember. From working on the men’s health fact sheet for the pre-party gift to searching the Movember website for more information we all learned a lot. Every intern pitched in and we are are ecstatic with the results!
